Individual Tutoring

• Individual tutoring is offered for a wide variety of subject areas.  Tutoring services are free of charge for student-athletes.  The tutors used for this service are current undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students on campus.
• A student-athlete may request a tutor at any time throughout the semester
• Please allow Student-Athlete Support Services staff a minimum of 24-48 hours to assign a tutor.
• Tutors may meet with the student-athletes for a maximum of 3 hours per week, per course, unless otherwise approved by a staff member.
• Tutoring sessions must take place in the Academic Center.  Violation could result in termination of the tutor and loss of tutor privileges for the student-athlete.
• Failure to show or cancel a tutor appointment within 24 hours can result in the loss tutoring services.
• Student-athletes must be prepared and ready to discuss questions, problems and issues with the tutor.  A tutor is not to be used in place of the instructor.  Tutors are there to supplement information learned in class.

To Request a Tutor:

1. Log on to your MyUAlbany Success Center (https://ualbany.campus.eab.com/)  
2. Click Make an Appointment
3. Click Request Appointment Time
4. Under What Type of Appointment, select Tutoring 
5. Under Service, select Athletics Tutoring
6. Click Find Available Time
7. Under Location, select Athletic Academic Support Center and leave course blank
8. Click Request Time
9. Under Availability, enter the name of the course 
10. Click Request

 
Missed Tutor Policy:
If you are a NO SHOW two times during a semester it will result in the loss of tutoring privileges for the remainder of the semester.  If you are more than 15 minutes late it will count as a NO SHOW.

• Subjects available:  Any 1XX level math course
• Monday – Thursday 9:00am – 4:00pm and Friday 9:00am – 2:00pm in Earth Science and Mathematics building room 138.

• In-person hours are Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm.  The Center is in the Humanities Building room 140.
