How it Happened:
- After two scoreless innings to open the game, UMBC broke through in the bottom of the third with a five-run frame, highlighted by a three-run home run to take a 5-0 lead.
- UAlbany responded in the fourth when Levi McAllister launched a solo home run to put the Great Danes on the board and make it 5-1.
- The Great Danes continued to chip away before breaking through in the fifth. Michael Maggio delivered an RBI single before Brian Guerrero followed with a run-scoring knock to cut into the deficit. McAllister drove in another on a fielder's choice, and Tre Mariano added an RBI single to tie the game at five. Jaxon Mueller capped the inning with an RBI single to give UAlbany its first lead of the day, 6-5.
- UMBC answered in the seventh, tying the game at six with an RBI single.
- In the eighth, the Retrievers took control. A leadoff double sparked the inning before a two-RBI single gave UMBC the lead. The rally continued with additional runs on a bases-loaded walk, a sacrifice fly, and a wild pitch as the home team plated six runs to extend the lead to 12-6.
- UAlbany was unable to respond in the final frame, as UMBC secured the series victory.
