SHORT STORY: The UAlbany women's track and field team continued their strong season at the Scarlet Knights Open, Friday.

KEY NOTES

• Ivanna de la Cruz Flores highlighted the meet for the Great Danes by setting the freshman record in the 600m. In 1:36.43, she surpassed Brinesha Derrick-Bain's record from 2023 by nearly a second (1:37.69). Overall, she is now fourth in program history.
• Four additional Great Danes entered the program's top 10 with their respective performances.
  • Jaymee Yelton - 1:35.24 in the 600m
  • Skyler Smith - 2:10.71 in the 800m
  • Arianna Verardi - 2:53.04 in the 1000m
  • Lalenii Grant - 19.14m in the weight throw
• Smith, Verardi, and Grant combined for UAlbany's four first-place finishes in the 800m (Smith), 1000m (Verardi), collegiate shot put (Grant), and championship weight throw (Grant). 
• In two events, the Great Dane entries finished back-to-back at the top of the leaderboard.
