BOSTON - The University at Albany track and field's
Nattaly Lindo was named the America East Field Athlete of the Week, as announced Tuesday.
In just her second year of collegiate competition, Lindo tabbed a second place finish, first among all collegiate competitors, at the Millrose Games in the weight throw (19.02m). Just one day later, she competed at the Cornell Invite in both weight throw and shot put and scored in both events, including a first place finish with a 18.66m weight throw.
Although neither mark was a season- or personal-best, she is ranked first in the America East in weight throw and ninth in spot put. She currently holds the sixth-best weight throw in UAlbany program history.
Lindo's award marks the second weekly award this season for the women's track and field teams.
The track and field programs will return to action on this weekend.
