LAST TIME AT NATIONALS
- The UAlbany men last made an appearance at the NCAA National Championship in 2023 with Louis Gordon representing the Great Danes.
- Placing 11th, and becoming a Second Team All-American, Gordon tabbed the highest UAlbany men's finish since Matthew Campbell placed seventh in the men's high jump in 2016.
- Before Gordon, Venique Harris finished sixth for the UAlbany women in the discus in 2019.
- Going into nationals, Gordon owned the 10th-highest mark between all competitors at the East and West Preliminary Rounds.
- At the national championship, Gordon's second jump proved his best with a personal record, at the time, of 7.77m (25-6). He broke his own school record.
2025 NCAA REGIONALS
- Louis Gordon was one of four regional qualifiers for the UAlbany men, and one of 10 UAlbany total qualifiers.
- The sixth-year athlete entered regional competition tied for 20th in the NCAA East and tied for 37th in the nation. Heading into nationals, he owns the seventh-best jump coming out of regionals.
- On his first jump, Gordon jumped 7.49m, a distance that would have qualified him for nationals.
- His second attempt resulted in a 7.83-meter jump, beating his own school record he set at the 2023 national championship.
- With a jump less than four inches from 26 feet, he skipped his final attempt and became UAlbany's first ever regional champion.
