The winner of Wednesday's game will move on to play #1 Cornell in the First Round.
The Great Danes claimed the program's 11
th America East Championship on Saturday afternoon, taking down #1 Bryant on their own turf in Smithfield, R.I. They return to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year after winning the conference crown in 2024. This will be UAlbany's 12
th NCAA Tournament appearance, all coming under Head Coach
Scott Marr. It will also be the second consecutive year the Great Danes host the Opening Round.
UAlbany finished the 2025 regular season with an overall record of 7-8, going 4-2 in America East play. The Great Danes found themselves with a 3-8 record early in the year before rattling off six straight wins, including two in the America East Championship. The program took down No. 3 UMBC in the conference Semifinals before defeating No. 1 seed and host Bryant, 12-7, in the Championship Game on Saturday afternoon.
Freshman goalkeeper
Brady Smith was named the America East Tournament's Most Outstanding Player. In the Championship Game, the rookie made 13 saves while allowing just seven goals. He also allowed just seven goals in the Semifinals against UMBC, making nine saves. Joining Smith on the America East's All-Championship Team was

Max Neeson, and
Jacob Smith.
Siena finished the 2025 regular season with an overall record of 9-4, going 7-1 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play. The Saints took down Marist and top seeded Sacred Heart in the MAAC Tournament to claim the program's first title in 11 years.
Siena is coached by Liam Gleason, a former Great Dane as both a player and a coach. He is joined by two more former Great Danes in Tim Cox and Derrick Eccles who serve as assistant coaches.
The Great Danes and the Saints have met 15 times dating back to 2000. UAlbany holds a 13-2 all-time advantage, with the most recent matchup coming in 2022.
