Bramanti Elevated to Assistant Coach/Director of Operations

ALBANY, N.Y. - The University at Albany women's basketball head coach Colleen Mullen has announced the promotion of Emily Bramanti as the program's new Assistant Coach/Director of Operations.

"We are excited to promote Emily to Director of Basketball Operations and Assistant Coach," said Mullen. "Upon her arrival last summer, her energy and enthusiasm were immediately contagious. As our video coordinator, she excelled in every area of her job responsibilities and proved to be a valuable contributor to the success of this past season. She is a rising star in the profession and is an important piece to our success moving forward. She embodies the character and work ethic that we value in our staff members and program. We are lucky to have her in this new role."

Hired in August 2023 as the Director of Recruiting and Video, Bramanti was in charge of organizing the team's community service efforts and assisting in the coordination of all social media efforts, recruiting, and alumni relations. As the new Assistant Coach/Director of Operations, she will be involved in all phases of the day-to-day operations of the women's basketball office. Bramanti will handle office and team budgetary matters, team travel, and will assist in the operations of the annual Coach Mullen basketball camp.

"I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to stay on the staff here at UAlbany," said Bramanti. "This past year was an incredible experience and I am very grateful to be working with such an amazing group of women again. I am looking forward to learning more from Coach Mullen and the staff in this coming year in my new position."

In her first year with the Great Danes, she helped lead the team to a 25-7 overall record, Mullen's third 20-win season, and their second consecutive appearance in the WNIT. Allowing just three losses in a 16-game America East schedule, three Great Danes were honored with postseason awards from the conference - Kayla Cooper (First Team All-Conference, All-Academic), Deja Evans (Third Team All-Conference, All-Rookie, All-Defensive), and Helene Haegerstrand (Third Team All-Conference).

Prior to joining the Great Danes' coaching staff, Bramanti graduated from Stonehill College in May 2023. During her time as a college student, she worked with multiple different organizations as a basketball instructor. Working as a coach or instructor for the New England Playmakers, Westford Academy Basketball Camp, and Dana Barros Elite, most of the players she worked with were on the cusp of their high school careers.

A five-year women's basketball student-athlete, Bramanti spent her entire career with the Skyhawks. A three-year captain, she led her team to a national ranking in their final two years as a Division II team (2020-22) with two appearances at the NCAA Tournament. In her final year as a Skyhawk, she was named NEC First Team All-Conference following the completion of the team's first season as a Division I team.

A native of Chelmsford, Mass., Bramanti holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Communication. She currently resides in Albany, N.Y.
