ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany women's soccer program and head coach
Sade Ayinde have announced the addition of two transfer students ahead of the 2024 season, Sina Anger and Madison Wisheart.
"We are very excited to have Sina and Maddie join us this Spring to start working with our group and our staff ahead of the fall," said Ayinde. "Both will add experience and depth to our roster, while positively adding to our team culture. Sina and Maddie have seamlessly transitioned into our program and our staff is excited to help them continue to develop as student-athletes."
Sina Anger: 5-4 | M | Holle, Germany | UNC Asheville
Quick Facts: Anger attended IGS Bad Salzdetfurth in Germany before enrolling at UNC Asheville for her collegiate career. In two seasons with the Bulldogs, Anger made 29 appearances with 14 starts, recording over 1,200 minutes on the field. Before joining the team at UNC Asheville, Anger played club soccer for one-and-a-half years for Hannover 96, and 10 years for VfL Wolfsburg clubs.
Why UAlbany?: I chose UAlbany because it offers a really competitive and well-structured soccer program with a great coaching staff where I know I will grow as a person on and off the field. Everyone just made me feel welcome and I am so excited to be a Great Dane.
What are you most looking forward to at UAlbany?: I am excited to meet all of the girls, the coaching staff, and to wear purple and gold.
Madison Wisheart: 5-6 | D | Whitesboro, N.Y. | Sacred Heart
Quick Facts: Wisheart lettered in soccer and in volleyball at Whitesboro High School, serving as soccer team captain in her junior and senior years. She finished her career with 12 goals and 12 assists, and was named TVL Co-Rookie of the Year as a freshman in 2018. Her youth career saw her win State Cup titles in 2016 and 2017, as well as a Region I title. Wisheart is a member of the SDA 04 Blasters in Utica, N.Y. In two seasons at Sacred Heart University, Wisheart made 26 appearances with eight starts, recording over 900 minutes on the field for the Pioneers.
Why UAlbany?: I chose UAlbany because I felt like it could be my home away from home. I felt as though, with the help of my teammates and coaches, I have the opportunity to grow here.
