Track and Field Announces 2024-25 Competition Schedule

ALBANY, N.Y. - The University at Albany track and field program has announced its indoor and outdoor schedule for the 2024-25 season.

Kicking off the season in December 2024, the Great Danes are set to compete in six indoor meets and eight outdoor meets in addition to their respective championship and postseason competitions. Before the winter intersession, UAlbany will visit Army for the Crowell Open on December 7. This will be the first meet back for most of the track and field athletes since last May.

The Great Danes will be headed to the Armory in New York City to begin the bulk of the indoor season after the New Year. They will be competing in the Dr. Sander Invitational on January 24-25 before heading to UConn for the Greg Roy-al Rumble (Feb. 1).

A few student-athletes will return to the Armory for the Millrose Games during the first weekend in February. Those not competing at the Millrose Games will split up in Boston at Harvard's Crimson Elite (Feb. 7) and/or Boston University's Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invite (Feb. 8).

To begin the indoor postseason, UAlbany will be back in Boston at Boston University's Track and Tennis Center to compete in the America East Championship (Feb. 22-23). Both the men and the women look to defend their title from last year's conference finale. Following the league championship, those who qualify will compete at the NCAA Championships (Mar. 14-15).

The outdoor season will begin during UAlbany's spring break with the team visiting Florida for UCF's Black & Gold Invitational (Mar. 21-22).

The first weekend of April will see the team split up. The first outdoor track and field competition in the Northeast will be the UConn Dog Fight Invite (Apr. 5). The day before the Connecticut competition starts, a different group of Great Danes will begin competition in Florida at the Pepsi Florida Relays (Apr. 4-5).

UAlbany will compete in two Capital Region competitions with the RPI Under the Lights event (Apr. 10-11) and the team's only home meet of the season, the Bobbi Palma Spring Classic (Apr. 18).

In their final event before the America East Championships, the Great Danes will travel to Pennsylvania for the Penn Relays (Apr. 24-26).

The 2025 conference finale will be held at New Hampshire on May 3-4. The women will be looking to continue their prowess with their 16th consecutive title while the men will hope to bring the championship title back to Albany.

Before the NCAA Championship meets, UAlbany will look to compete in the West Point Twilight (May 8) in a final chance to qualify for the NCAA Prelims. Those who qualify will compete at North Florida in the NCAA Preliminary Round (May 28-31) and those who advance will compete in the NCAA Championships (June 11-14) at the University of Oregon.
