ALBANY, N.Y. – University at Albany football player
Dontae Lunan has been named the Coastal Athletic Association's (CAA) Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Â
Lunan recorded a team-high 15 tackles, 1.5 TFLs, a QB hurry and two interceptions in UAlbany's narrow 20-17 setback at #15 Rhode Island. It was Lunan's eighth game this season with double-digit stops and was the second highest he has recorded in a game this season (18 – 10/19 vs. Elon).  He became the first player in the CAA this season to record two interceptions in one game. Lunan leads the CAA with 114 tackles and has 9.5 TFLs.
Â
Lunan, a senior, is enjoying a strong season with UAlbany after transferring from CAA foe Bryant last season.
