LAST WEEK IN REVIEW
	- The Great Danes played three matches in Michigan at the Chippewa Invitational, hosted by Central Michigan University (Sept. 1-2).
- On Friday, September 1, UAlbany played an early match with three close sets but CMU took the win. Later that day, the Great Danes fell in three sets to Bradley.
- In a match that saw several lead changes, UAlbany's final game was a 3-1 loss to Saint Louis (Sept. 2). The Billikens and the Great Danes went back and forth during each set with UAlbany taking the win in the third set.
- Redshirt sophomore Shynelle Woroniuk led the weekend with 32 kills (3.2/set). On defense, senior Elisavet Papageorgiou tallied 33 digs (3.3/set) and redshirt freshman Gabriella Karman led with six blocks.
- Woroniuk was named All-Tournament for her efforts.
GREAT DANE REWIND
	- Overall, UAlbany holds a 1-5 record on the season.
- The Great Danes started 2023 with a three-set sweep over Syracuse (Aug. 25). 
- Following the win, UAlbany played close sets against Navy (Aug. 26) and UCF (Aug. 27) to close the UAlbany Invitational.
- The Great Danes moved to 1-5 after three losses at the Chippewa Invitational.
- Shynelle Woroniuk leads with 2.67 kills per set while redshirt sophomore Kendall Harris leads with a .338 hitting percentage.
- On defense, Elisavet Papageorgiou holds two team-highs 2.79 digs/set and seven service aces.
- Sophomore Tori Wilson and Gabriella Karman lead the team with 10 blocks each. Wilson is the lone Great Dane with multiple solo blocks - two.
INTERNATIONAL APPEAL
	- The UAlbany coaching staff is constantly at work to represent different cultures and countries on their roster each year.
- The 2023 roster traveled a total of 32,597 miles from their homes to UAlbany.
- Seven different countries and five different states within the USA are included on the 14-person roster.

ABOUT COLGATE
	- The Raiders are 2-4 on the season after two weekends of play.
- Opening the season at the Mizzou Invitational, Colgate defeated Central Arkansas (8.25) and Illinois State (8.26) and fell to the host, Missouri (8.26).
- At the Penn State Invitational, the Raiders fell to #22 Western Kentucky (9.1), James Madison (9.1), and #14 Penn State (9.2).
- Carlie Rzeszotarski leads the team with 3.23 kills per set and 3.59 points per set.
- Rachael Martinez tops the defense with 3.48 digs per set.
- Sophie Thompson owns two team-highs with 34.0 total blocks and six service aces.
- Claire Dewine is the team's starting setter with 5.18 assists per set. Sydney Jones is close behind with 4.91 assists per set.
SERIES AGAINST THE RAIDERS
	- Colgate holds an 8-4 lead over the Great Danes in the all-time series.
- UAlbany last faced the Raiders in 2022 for a 3-1 loss at Cornell. 
- The Great Danes last beat Colgate, 3-0, in 2015 at the Colgate Classic.
ABOUT CORNELL
	- The Big Red is 1-2 on the season after one weekend of play.
- Cornell opened the season at Bucknell with a win over Niagara (9.1). The Big Red fell against the host, Bucknell, and William & Mary (9.2).
- Before seeing action on Friday, Cornell will host Syracuse on Wednesday (Sept. 6).
- Eliza Konvicka leads the team with 4.27 kills per set and 4.68 points per set.
- On defense, Sarita Pomar owns a team-high 4.58 digs per set.
- Camryn Carlo tops the team with 12 total blocks and Katie Stration has notched a team-high three service aces.
- Doga Ozalp is the team's starting setter with 118 assists in three matches (9.83/set).
SERIES AGAINST THE BIG RED
	- Cornell holds a 5-2 lead over the Great Danes in the all-time series.
- First meeting in 2000 with three Big Red wins, UAlbany's last two meetings were the program's first two victories. 
- The first Great Dane win came from a home match at the Crowne Plaza Albany - The Desmond Hotel Invitational on September 4, 2021.
- Most recently, UAlbany earned a five-set victory on September 10, 2022, at the Cornell Invitational. Returning student-athlete Anna Myhal earned a double-double with a team-high 16 kills and 13 digs.
ABOUT WEST VIRGINIA
	- The Mountaineers are 2-4 on the season after two regular-season tournaments.
- Opening play at the College of Charleston Tournament, WVU notched wins against Le Moyne (8.25) and the host, College of Charleston (8.26) with a loss to Davidson (8.26).
- At the Duke/North Carolina Tournament (Aug. 31-Sept. 2), the Mountaineers fell to North Carolina in three sets, Loyola in four sets, and Duke in five sets.
- Hailey Green leads the team with 3.86 points per set and 3.59 kills per set.
- Camilia Covas tops the defense with 3.27 digs per set.
- Tierney Jackson owns a team-high with 25 total blocks.
- Lauren DeLo is the lone Mountaineer with double-digit service aces - 11.
- DeLo serves as the team's starting setter with 209 assists in six matches (9.95/set).
SERIES AGAINST THE MOUNTAINEERS
	- The series is tied, 1-1.
- WVU tallied the win in the first meeting between the two teams on September 1, 2007.
- Most recently, the Great Danes earned a three-set victory over the Mountaineers on September 8, 2018.

	- New Hampshire holds the lead with five wins and two losses.
- UMBC, Bryant, and Binghamton remain with one more win than losses - 3-2 for the Retrievers and 4-3 for the Bulldogs and the Bearcats.
- NJIT sits even with a 4-4 record for a .500 win percentage.
- UAlbany rounds out the AE with a 1-5 record.
