ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany has announced that 2023 football season tickets and single game tickets are officially on sale. In addition, the 2023 football promotional schedule has been released as the Great Danes welcome fans back to Casey Stadium for a year full of excitement and fun.

The 2023 football season comes with updates to season ticket prices and per-seat donations, also known as Preferred Seating. In this updated model, football gold level seating will be reduced from a $400 annual commitment, per seat, to a $350 annual commitment. Current season ticket holders, not currently seated in the Gold Level, will have the opportunity to upgrade into Gold Level seating for the 2023 season at a discounted rate.

Additionally, there has been a change to the Great Dane Athletic Club (GDAC) annual fund giving structure. Starting in the 2023-24 seasons, Preferred Seating commitments will be separated by sport. To receive priority and complimentary parking for football, fans will need to purchase a minimum of two football season tickets in a ticket level which includes a Preferred Seating gift. This gift will not count towards any other ticketed sports. UAlbany is set to bring back a plethora of starters for 2023.
Reese Poffenbarger, the 2022 Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Offensive Rookie of the Year, returns for the Great Danes in his second year at quarterback. Linebacker
Dylan Kelly and defensive end
Anton Juncaj, both All-CAA Third Team selections last season, return to a promising defense that is looking to take the next step. With an additional influx of new talent, UAlbany is set to turn a corner in 2023.

The Great Danes kick off their 2023 home slate on Aug. 26 in a "Week 0" game against Fordham. The 7:00 p.m. matchup under the lights will be a "Blackout" where fans will be encouraged to fill the stands in black attire in support of the Great Danes, who will sport their black jerseys that were unveiled in 2022. The home opener will also feature a fireworks display for fans to enjoy as they watch one of the very first college football games to kickoff across the nation.

The team returns on Sept. 30 after a month-long break from Casey Stadium. The Great Danes will jump into Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play against Villanova for the team's annual Hometown Heroes Game, honoring the men and women who serve our country as well as the Capital Region's first responders and health care workers. In addition, the Great Danes will be celebrating Family Weekend. Fans are encouraged to bring the whole family out for pregame activities thanks to UAlbany Student Affairs.

UAlbany returns home on Oct. 21 to host Rhode Island as alumni and friends from years past return to campus to celebrate homecoming weekend.

The team will break out its pink gear for its annual Breast Cancer Awareness Game on Nov. 4 against William & Mary. The game is circled on the calendar, as it is one that touches the hearts of many on the team and around the Capital Region.

Finally, the Great Danes wrap up the 2023 regular season on Nov. 18 with a matchup against Monmouth for Senior Day. The team will honor its senior class and those who have given so much to the program during their time at UAlbany while welcoming Monmouth back to Casey Stadium for the first time since 2017.

The Great Danes' 2023 schedule is now officially complete. Previously on the schedule as a game 'TBD,' UAlbany is now set to face off against FBS foe Marshall on Saturday, Sept. 2. The game in Huntington, West Virginia, is set for 6:00 p.m. It will be the first of two-consecutive games against FBS level schools for the Great Danes, who travel to face Hawaii the following weekend.
