Women's Basketball Names Colleen Corcoran New Director of Operations

ALBANY, N.Y. - The University at Albany women's basketball head coach Colleen Mullen has announced the hiring of Colleen Corcoran as the program's Director of Operations.

"We are thrilled to welcome Colleen back to UAlbany," said Mullen. "Previously our graduate assistant, Colleen's commitment and tireless work ethic had an immediate impact on our program and helped to raise our program to a championship level. She brings infectious energy, passion and enthusiasm to our players and staff every day.  We are lucky to have such a great person and role model return to the program as our new Director of Basketball Operations."

Corcoran will be involved in all phases of the day-to-day operations of the women's basketball office. She will handle office and team budgetary matters, team travel and will assist in the operations of the annual Coach Mullen basketball camp.

"I am so excited to return to UAlbany to work with such an incredible group of people," said Colleen Corcoran. "The championship culture that Colleen has built is nothing short of greatness and I am very grateful to be back under her guidance. The staff, team, and community at UAlbany have been a vital part of my coaching journey so I am eager to help this program in any way that I can. I am very grateful for this opportunity and to be a Great Dane once again!"

Corcoran returns to the Great Danes' women's basketball staff after having spent a season with Dartmouth women's basketball. As the Big Green's Director of Basketball Operations, she oversaw all administrative functions of the program. Organizing the team's schedules and travel plans, she served as the team's social media manager and content creator.

Spending two years at UAlbany, Corcoran served as the Graduate Assistant Coach while earning her master's degree. Her primary responsibilities consisted of working with the communications department for social media and content creation, coordinating student-athlete community service opportunities, and creating the monthly alumni newsletter.

A four-year women's basketball student-athlete, Corcoran graduated from Le Moyne College in May 2020. A two-year captain of the Dolphins, she led her team to an NCAA Sweet 16 appearance in 2019. The starting forward was set for her second NCAA appearance in 2020 before the tournament was canceled.

A native of Beverly, Mass., Corcoran holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Master of Arts in Higher Education from UAlbany. She currently resides in Albany, N.Y.
