Premier Lacrosse League Designates New York as Home Market for Atlas LC

BRISTOL, Conn. – Announced Tuesday afternoon on ESPN SportsCenter, the Premier Lacrosse League unveiled its selections for home markets for the eight member programs.  The Atlas Lacrosse Club will now call New York their home.

The PLL announced the following affiliations for the teams:

Utah Archers
New York Atlas
Boston Cannons
Carolina Chaos
Denver Outlaws
California Redwoods
Philadelphia Waterdogs
Maryland Whipsnakes

The Outlaws, formerly Chrome Lacrosse Club, were the only team to undergo a name change, reverting to the name of former Major League Lacrosse team.

Additionally, the league will split into an East and West conference, with the Atlas joined by the Cannons, Waterdogs, and Whipsnakes in the East.

The league will continue to operate its tour-based model, featuring stops in 14 locations.  Home teams will play twice when the league visits their market.

New York has been one of the anchor points for the PLL since its inception.  UAlbany has hosted a weekend series in each full season, and has, for the last two years, hosted training camp and Week One.  Long Island has also hosted PLL regular-season and playoff weekends.

The Atlas are one of six of the league's founding programs, and features 2022 Jim Brown MVP and three-time Paul Cantabene Faceoff Athlete of the Year Trevor Baptiste.
