BOSTON – University at Albany sophomore
Selma Elverum has been named America East Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. She was named alongside Defensive Player Kaitlyn Williams from Binghamton and Rookie Greta Caulton from New Hampshire.
Â
Elverum, a forward from Oslo, Norway, recorded two goals and five total points in the Great Danes' 4-0 victory over UMBC last week, both of which either matched or exceeded her previous single-game career highs. Elverum is the team leader in both categories this season, accumulating five goals and 11 points in 13 appearances.
Â
Elverum, who earns the first America East weekly honor of her career, is also UAlbany's first to do so this season. She is UAlbany's first Offensive Player of the Week since
Olivia Piraino on September 19, 2022.
Â
UAlbany plays its final non-conference opponent of the 2023 regular season on Tuesday with a visit to Cornell.
