ALBANY, N.Y. – Quarterback
Reese Poffenbarger has been named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Week following a historic performance against Fordham. It is the first such award of Poffenbarger's career.

The rookie signal caller completed 25-of-40 passes for a school-record 412 yards and three touchdowns in UAlbany's narrow 48-45 setback at Fordham. The 412 yards is the 5th-most by a FCS quarterback this season. The 400+ yard mark sets the UAlbany single game passing yards record, which was previously held by
Jeff Undercuffler (398 yards at Monmouth, 9-14-19) and Joe Savino (398 yards vs. So. Conn St., 11-15-97).

The freshman had a scoring a pass of 45 yards to running back
Todd Sibley at the end of the first half to complete a 24-point second quarter for the Great Danes. He kept his pace up in the second half with a 25-yard strike to
Julian Hicks in the third quarter and a seven-yard pass to
Brevin Easton in the late stages of the fourth. Poffenbarger utilized all of his offensive weapons, connecting with 10 different receivers throughout the game.
