BOSTON – Three members of the University at Albany track & field program have been named America East Performers of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.  Shak Williams, Ludith Campos, and Louis Gordon were named alongside Binghamton's Jenna Chan.
 
Men's Track Performer Williams, a sophomore sprinter from St. Andrew, Jamaica, won the men's 60m dash at the Carlton Crowell Invitational over the weekend.  Williams ran a personal-best 6.77 in the preliminary round, qualifying for finals in second place, just one-thousandth of a second behind teammate Travis Williams.  Both Great Danes surpassed the meet record of 6.83 set in 2016 by Army West Point's Tyler Davis.  In the finals, S. Williams set another personal-best to win in 6.66, breaking the UAlbany school record of 6.77 set in 2007 by UAlbany short sprints coach Junior Burnett.  Through the first weekend of the season, S. Williams' time ranks second among NCAA Division I competitors.
 
Women's Field Performer Campos, a graduate thrower from Mount Vernon, N.Y., won the weight throw at the Carlton Crowell Invitational, recording a mark of 62-04.50.  Campos' mark ranks fifth among NCAA Division I competitors.
 
Men's Field Performer Gordon, a junior jumper from Bodden Town, Grand Caymen, won the long jump at the Carlton Crowell Invitational in 24-01.00, setting personal best for the indoor season and breaking the previous meet record of 23-08.75 set in 2020 by Army West Point's Drew Bullen.  Gordon's mark ranks 10th among NCAA Division I competitors.
 
UAlbany makes its debut appearance at The Track at New Balance in Boston on Friday for the Joe Donahue Games.
