Football Announces Hiring of Kashif Moore as Wide Receivers Coach

ALBANY, N.Y.  – The University at Albany and Head Coach Greg Gattuso today announced the hiring of Kashif Moore as the team's Wide Receivers Coach. Moore comes to UAlbany after most recently serving at Cornell University.

"We are very excited to welcome Kashif Moore to our football staff as our wide receiver coach," said Gattuso. "He was a great player at UConn, and comes in with an array of NFL experience. I remember him being a great competitor in his playing days. He will help mold our receivers into a top unit."

A four-year letter winner at the University of Connecticut, Moore was elected team captain as a senior and graduated ranked in the top 10 in program history in receptions (126) while registering 1,699 career yards and 13 touchdowns. He competed in three postseason games, including catching four passes for 62 yards against Oklahoma in the 2011 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl - the program's first-ever BCS Bowl game. He was invited to the 2011 NFL Combine and later signed contracts with Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh and Kansas City.

"I'm grateful, excited, and fired up to be a part of the UAlbany family," said Moore. "I can't wait to get a chance to work with the talented group of receivers the University has and continues to bring in. I'd like to thank Coach Gattuso and Mark Benson for allowing me to get this opportunity."

After his playing career, Moore started his coaching journey at Conard (Conn.) HS under his former UConn receivers coach, Matt Cersosimo, from 2019 to 2020. He then spent a year at Wesleyan, University, where he helped the Cardinals navigate through a 2020 season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There, he assisted in the development of the players on and off the field. Moore most recently spent one season at Cornell as the team's running backs coach in 2021.

A native of Burlington, N.J., Moore played for Burlington Township HS where he earned all-conference, all-South Jersey and all-state in football and track. He graduated from UConn in 2011 with a degree in economics.
