ALBANY, N.Y. — The University at Albany football program will honor the men and women who serve our country as well as the Capital Region's first responders and health care workers during the annual "Hometown Heroes" game Saturday, Sept. 11, against Rhode Island at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium.
This year also marks the eighth consecutive year the Great Danes have honored military members and recognized the family of Army Lt. Col. Todd J. Clark, a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy in Albany who was killed in action in Afghanistan. For the second consecutive season, the program will show its appreciation for our community's police, firefighters and paramedics, and for the first time, our local health care workers who have been instrumental during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Fans can honor Hometown Heroes with a decal on the back of a student-athlete's helmet to be worn during the game, which kicks off at 7:00 p.m.Â
