How it Happened:
- On Delaware State's first offensive series, quarterback Ui Ale threw a pass that was intercepted by Shawn Lewis to set up the Great Danes at the Hornets' 21-yard line.
- UAlbany capitalized on the turnover five plays later when Rahshan La Mons hauled in a six-yard touchdown pass from Aidan Semo to make it 7-0 early.
- Delaware State responded on its next drive with a field goal to cut the lead to 7-3 with 1:22 left in the first.
- The Great Danes drove down the field into the red zone, but were unable to convert a fourth-down run and gave the ball to the Hornets on the three-yard line at the 5:07 mark of the second quarter.
- On the ensuing drive, the Hornets lost two yards and punted from their own end zone, and a 25-yard return from La Mons set up the UAlbany offense up at the Delaware State 16-yard line.
- Three plays later, La Mons found the end zone for the second time, this time on a two-yard rush, to extend the lead to 14-3 with 2:03 left in the half.
- Coming out of the break, neither offense was able to score until Joey Koch broke the stalemate with a three-yard touchdown run to cap off a nine-play drive and make the score 21-3 with 1:11 left in the third.
- The Great Danes struck early in the fourth quarter when Aiden Semo found BJ Norman in the end zone from 12 yards out to push the score to 28-3.
- Delaware State drove down the field looking to respond, but a sack by Jeremiah Pruitt on a fourth down killed the Hornets' drive with 8:47 left in the game.
- The UAlbany defense kept the Delaware State offense off the board for the remainder of the game, and the Great Danes walked away with a 28-3 win.
