Coach Phil Sykes: "I really liked how our girls competed today in a back-and-forth game that was a very important conference game for both teams. You never really know what's going to happen in overtime and both teams had chances and we were fortunate to take advantage late. Every conference win is huge and we were ecstatic to get it done today."

How it Happened
- UAlbany struck first in the contest when Lara Mortz played in a penalty corner that was stopped by Charlotte Triggs and fired into the goal by Robyn Murray. The goal at 14:33 was Murray's third goal of the season and second time the trio converted a set play on a penalty corner.
- In the second quarter, UMass Lowell produced its first shot of the game that was blocked and resulted in a penalty corner. On the ensuing play-in, the River Hawks scored the equalizer when Clara Defourt set up Berbel Rozema, who fired the ball past Sheridan Messier.
- After one shot on goal by each team that was saved, they entered halftime tied 1-1.
- In the third quarter, UAlbany successfully killed off a yellow card handed to Rachel Shannauer and held UMass Lowell to two shots, only one on goal. Katie MacCallum was handed a yellow with 44 seconds left in the quarter.
- Able to kill off the five-minute penalty to MacCallum, UAlbany gained momentum, and even took four shots during the penalty. The Great Danes took two three more shots during the final seven minutes of the final quarter but none reached goal.
- UAlbany outshot UMass Lowell 8-0 in the fourth quarter but could not convert, as they headed to overtime tied 1-1.
- In the first overtime, UAlbany took the only two shots of the frame but one was saved and the other was blocked.

UAlbany countered when MacCallum took a shot that was saved by goalkeeper Eleonore Boekhorst. Off the save, Mortz found the rebound on the left side of the goal and put home the game-winner for the Great Danes, as they took a 2-1 victory and improved to 3-1 in conference play.
