How it Happened
 
  • Just over one minute after the opening draw, Kyla Zapolski scored on a free-position attempt to put UAlbany on the board.  UConn responded to tie the game at one just 18 seconds later.  Katie Pascale put UAlbany back on top, 2-1, with 26:28 left in the first, before UConn scored four-straight to take a 5-2 lead.
  • Madison Conway ended UConn's run with her first goal with 16:15 left in the first.  UConn responded a minute later, before UAlbany closed the first half with three-straight goals to tie the game at six at halftime.
  • UConn retook the lead to start the second half before UAlbany scored two-straight to take their first lead since 1-0, going up 8-7 with 21:51 left in the second thanks to a free-position goal from Kyla Zapolski.  UConn then scored six of the next seven goals to take a commanding 13-9 lead with 6:50 remaining.
  • UAlbany's comeback attempt lasted two goals.  Kathryn Sancilio scored with 6:06 remaining off a setup from Kendra Harbinger, and Harbinger scored on a free-position attempt with 4:45 remaining to cut the lead to two.  UConn ended UAlbany's run with 1:54 remaining, sealing the 14-11 victory.
  • Fresh off her America East Rookie of the Week award, Pascale paced the Great Danes against UConn with three goals and two assists.  Zapolski finished with a hat trick, and Harbinger scored twice with one assist.  Aislinn Sweeney, making her second-straight start in goal, recorded nine saves.
