ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany revealed schedules for all spring and fall sports to compete during the Spring 2021 season.  Competition begins as early as February 19 with men's soccer hosting Syracuse at Afrim's in Latham, and the final regular season games conclude May 22 when baseball wraps its four-game series at Maine.
 
Traditional spring sports will largely see a normal, if possibly shortened, scheduling and championship format in 2021.  On October 19, the America East announced its initial steps to a return to play for basketball and fall sports, the guidelines for which are listed under each sport's schedule, in addition to other notable format changes.
 
Schedules are subject to change.  Due to current New York State COVID-19 guidelines, fan attendance and tailgating at sporting events is prohibited.  UAlbany Athletics is committed to adhering to these guidelines, but will monitor the situation closely in the event any change allows fan attendance at all home venues this spring.  Should current restrictions lift, the department will be in communication regarding how to secure tickets for the upcoming 2020-21 season.

On October 27, 2020, the CAA announced its unique format for the 2021 spring season.  The conference will divide into North and South Divisions for round-robin competition.  UAlbany, playing in the North Division, will play each of its North Division opponents once.  The South Division will play each of its South Division opponents twice.  The team with the best overall record at the end of the six-game regular season will earn the CAA's automatic bid to the NCAA Football Championship.  Teams finishing with the same conference record will be addressed using a tie-breaking procedure.
