BOSTON – On Wednesday, the America East announced its list of Presidential Scholar-Athletes for the Fall 2021 semester.  Nine total student-athletes from six of the America East's member institutions satisfied the criteria for the honor, three of which were Great Danes.
 
To qualify as a Presidential Scholar-Athlete, an individual must be graduating and have accumulated a career undergraduate GPA of 3.75 or higher.
 
Two Great Danes programs were represented among this semester's class of America East Presidential Scholar-Athletes: Carlos Morehouse and Bjarki Ragnar from men's soccer, and Danielle Tedesco from women's volleyball.
 
Morehouse graduates this December with a degree in Business Administration and a 3.77 GPA, alongside teammate Ragnar, who also receives a degree in Business Administration with a 3.86 GPA.  Tedesco graduates with degrees in Criminal Justice and Sociology having accumulated a 3.75 GPA.
 
The Presidential Scholar-Athlete Award was approved by the America East Board of Presidents in June of 2013 and was implemented for the 2013-14 academic year. In total, 562 elite student-athletes have been honored as part of the program.
