BOSTON – University at Albany cross country graduate student
Sydney Coddington has been named America East All-Academic, the conference announced Wednesday. Coddington was the lone Great Danes' All-Academic representative.

Coddington, from Bronxville, N.Y., is in her first semester of graduate school studying Philosophy. As an undergrad, Coddington graduated with a 4.00 GPA studying Political Science with a minor in Philosophy.

Additionally, Coddington was named a Spring 2021 America East Presidential Scholar-Athlete, and was named the 2021 Rockefeller College Valedictorian. She earns her second-ever All-Academic honor, previously finding a spot in the America East's spring 2021 team.

Coddington ran as UAlbany's seventh runner during the 2021 fall cross country season. She recorded season bests of 18:55.1 for 5K and 23:57.7 for 6K. She placed 55th overall at the 2021 America East XC Championships this fall.

A total of 20 student-athletes, 10 men and 10 women, were named to the 2021 America East All-Academic Team. Eight of the conference's 10 member institutions were represented, with UMass Lowell leading all schools with four honorees.

UAlbany's cross country season has ended and the student-athletes will join their track & field teammates in preparation for the beginning of the 2021-22 indoor season.
