Recap
The University at Albany women's basketball team fell to Binghamton by a score of 58-42 on Wednesday.
 
Paced by a career-high 16 points from Haegerstrand, the Great Danes got off to a quick start in the first quarter, but Binghamton used multiple big scoring runs in the course of the contest to hold on for the victory. The win for Binghamton snapped a 21-game winning streak for UAlbany against the Bearcats. 
 
Haegerstrand kicked off the proceedings, giving the Great Danes a quick 2-0 lead on a layup a minute into the contest. Binghamton responded to tie the game up at two on a layup, but UAlbany took a 6-4 lead from with points from Schecter and Haegerstrand. Starting at the 5:44 mark, Binghamton surged to a 12-0 run and took a 16-6 lead heading into the second.
 
In the second, Schecter ended the Bearcats' scoring run with a jumper 30 seconds in, but Binghamton continued to respond. Starting at the 8:33 mark, the Bearcats went on a 9-0 run to stretch their lead to 25-8. UAlbany trimmed the lead to 30-22 starting with a 14-5 run at the 5:56 mark. Highlighted in the scoring for the Great Danes was an Izzy Om three-pointer and back-to-back layups by Lucia Decortes.
 
In the third, Haegerstrand kept leading the way for UAlbany tallying a jumper 40 seconds in to cut the deficit to 30-24. The two teams traded points for most of the quarter, with UAlbany trimming the Binghamton lead to six or seven points. Patricia Conroy knocked down a three-pointer with 1:13 remaining to cut Binghamton's lead to 38-32, but the Bearcats eventually closed the quarter with a 40-33 advantage.
 
Haegerstrand once again opened the scoring in the fourth, notching another jumper to cut the Binghamton lead to 40-35. The Bearcats responded with a 7-0 run to increase their lead up to 47-37, and continued to be ahead for the remainder of the quarter. Frames cut into the Binghamton lead with layup to make it a 52-41 game at the 1:38 mark, but it wasn't enough to overcome the deficit.
