Baseball Drops Season Opener at Arizona, 12-7

Score: Arizona 12, UAlbany 7

Location: Hi Corbett Field in Tucson, Ariz.

Records: UAlbany (0-1); Arizona (1-0)

Short Story: UAlbany rallies for five runs in the ninth but the Great Danes fall short in the series opener to Arizona 12-7.

Coach Mueller: "It was a big challenge coming into this environment, they are a top-20 team, 13th in some polls. I thought we did a nice job throughout the day offensively, we got the pitch count up on their starter and cashed in late with some new guys in the lineup, which is nice. We have to come out tomorrow and play outstanding baseball to beat a team like this."
