Recap
The University at Albany baseball team quickly saw why the University at Arizona offense was No. 1 in the PAC-12 in 2019 on Friday, and the bats did not slow down Saturday night. The Wildcats followed a 12-7 win on Friday with a 15-0 victory on Saturday.

After a scoreless top of the first, freshman left-handed pitcher Cregg Scherrer ran into trouble in his first collegiate appearance. After a leadoff single, Josh Salandy lost a flyball in the Arizona evening sky, scored a double, putting runners on second and third. Both scored on a two-run double the next at bat. On a 3-2 count, Arizona's Dayton Dooney took Scherrer deep to center, giving Arizona a 4-0 lead before an out was recorded. After two singles and a walk loaded the bases with one out, Brad Malm turned a double play to end the inning.

In the top of the second, the Great Danes were sent down 1-2-3, taking Arizona's pitcher Quinn Flanagan seven pitches to complete. Scherrer responded with a 1-2-3 inning of his own against the Wildcats' first three hitters in the order.

With one out in the top of the third, freshman catcher Chris Fisher drew a walk in his first collegiate start and was later thrown out on a steal attempt. In the bottom half, the first two Wildcats reached on walks, followed by a two-run double down the right field line. A throwing error by Scherrer led to another Wildcat run, giving them a 7-0 lead before a pitching change was made.

Freshman Kyle Menaker entered the game for his first collegiate appearance. After giving up an unearned run, Menaker loading the bases with back-to-back walks and hit two of the next three batters, allowing two more runs. The next batter hit a two-run single, followed by another RBI single, giving Arizona a 13-0 lead after three.

Dolan Ocasal recorded UAlbany's first hit with a leadoff single in the top of the fourth. Alex Thul singled with two outs in the inning but both runners were left on base. In the bottom half, Connor Takacs walked two of the first three batters he faced but was able to get out of the jam, pitching a scoreless inning.

After a scoreless top of the fifth, Arizona added another run on an RBI single to extend the lead to 14-0. Flanagan sent the Great Danes down in order on just five pitches in the top of the sixth. After retiring the first two Wildcats in the bottom half, Takacs walked two straight hitters but struck out the next for his second scoreless inning.

Arizona's Flanagan struck out the side in the top of the seventh, giving him 10 strikeouts on the night. Freshman left-handed pitcher Anthony Fusco came in to relieve Takacs, making his collegiate debut, recording two strikeouts after a pair of one-out walks in a scoreless seventh.

In a scoreless top of the eighth, Salandy was the only UAlbany hitter to reach, on an error. In the bottom half, Arizona's Branden Boissiere hit a leadoff home run, giving then a 15-0 lead before Fusco settled down and struck out two of the next three batters. The Great Danes went down 1-2-3 in the top of the ninth, sealing Arizona's 15-0 shutout.
