Coach Mullen:Â "I'm so proud of our effort tonight. Hartford did a great job of switching up defenses and we struggled with rebounds and fouls the entire game. But when Hartford made a big run in the third quarter, our players responded. We took care of the ball down the stretch and knocked down key free throws. With four players in double figures, it was a really great team win."

The University at Albany women's basketball team won its third conference game of the season, snapping a four-game losing streak with a 68-63 victory over Hartford on Saturday.

For the third time this season and first time since UAlbany's victory against FDU Florham on December 4, the Great Danes were led by four double digit scorers. UAlbany was paced by Schecter with 16 points, Haegerstrand with a career-high 15 points, Stokes with a career-high 14 points, and Frames with 13 points.Â

Stokes kicked off the proceedings for UAlbany, converting on a jumper 45 seconds into the game. Hartford responded quickly with a three-pointer to take an early 3-2 lead, but that marked one of the few leads that the Hawks had during the game. Four straight points by Schecter following the Hartford three-pointer gave UAlbany a 6-3 lead at the 6:17 mark. Hartford answered with a layup to cut the deficit back to one, but the Great Danes kept holding onto a slim lead. A 5-0 run for the Hawks eventually knotted the game up at 10 with 2:15 remaining, but UAlbany regained the lead from that point forward. Highlighted by three more points from Schecter, the Great Danes closed out the first on a 5-2 run to a take a 15-12 lead into the second.Â

Stokes kicked off the scoring once again to start the second with a field goal in the paint to extend the UAlbany lead to 17-12. From that point forward, UAlbany kept pulling ahead with four more points, highlighted by a Frames three-pointer to extend the Great Danes' lead to 21-12. The Hawks then went on a scoring run of their own starting at the 6:57 mark, tying the game up at 21. Haegerstrand ended the Hartford run with a three pointer with 1:47 left, and UAlbany eventually kept a slim 26-23 lead heading into halftime.

Stokes continued her trend to open the scoring in the third with a layup in the paint to extend the UAlbany lead to 28-23. Hartford responded with a field goal in the paint quickly after, but Frames hit a three-pointer with 7:02 remaining to keep UAlbany ahead. The Hawks kept responding back, up until UAlbany went on a 6-0 run starting at the 5:27 mark. During the scoring run, Schecter tallied four of the points, and Haegerstrand notched the other two. UAlbany extended its lead to 38-28, and eventually took a 46-38 advantage into the fourth.Â

Hartford got off to a quick start in the fourth with three straight points to trim the UAlbany lead to 46-41. The two teams traded points for most of the quarter, with Hartford eventually cutting the Great Danes' deficit to 48-47 at the 5:37 mark. Haegerstrand ended a 7-0 scoring run for the Hawks with a three-pointer to keep UAlbany ahead, and up 51-47. The back and forth trend between the two teams remained for the rest of the quarter, but UAlbany continued to hold onto a lead and eventually a 68-63 victory.
