BOSTON – For the second time this season, University at Albany cross country runner Hannah Reinhardt has been named America East Performer of the Week, the conference offices announced Wednesday. She was named alongside Stony Brook's Cameron Avery.
Reinhardt, a senior from Clarence, N.Y., finished 24th overall in the women's 5K at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown, crossing the line in 18:00.1. She was the top finisher among America East competitors in the race, which featured Vermont, Stony Brook, New Hampshire, and UMass Lowell.
Reinhardt has now gone two-for-two in Performer of the Week opportunities this season, and has won the award each of the last six times she has competed when the award has been given dating back to the start of the 2018 season.
UAlbany is off this weekend but will return to action next week at Lehigh University for the Paul Short Invitational. It will be the first time this season where the women will compete on a 6K course. One month later, UAlbany will host the America East XC Championships, where Reinhardt and the women's team are defending individual and team champions, respectively.
