Former Great Danes to Compete in Indoor Worlds

SPARKS, Md. — University at Albany men's lacrosse alumni Joe Resetarits and Blaze Riorden have been named to the U.S. roster for the 2019 World Indoor Lacrosse Championships, US Lacrosse announced Thursday, July 25.

Additionally, Adam Osika has been named an alternate for the team, which will compete in Langley, British Columbia from Sept. 19-28. 

Resetarits and Riorden are appearing on the team for a second team. They also represented the United States in 2015, helping the squad earn a bronze medal. The U.S. also earned bronze in 2003, 2007 and 2011.

Resetarits (Class of 2012), Riorden (2016) and Osika (2017) all played in the National Lacrosse League this past season. Restarits posted 28 goals and 39 assists. Riorden, playing forward, totaled 23 goals and 31 assists. And Osika picked up four assists as a transition.

The U.S. team begins play Sept. 19 against Canada. Pool-play games follow against Israel on Sept. 20 and the Iroquois Nationals on Sept. 21.

Restarits and Riorden currently are competing outdoors in the Premier Lacrosse League, which will be holding games at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium on Aug. 24-25. To purchase tickets, CLICK HERE.
