Fort Myers, Fla. —The UAlbany volleyball team heads to Florida to compete in the FGCU Invitational this weekend. The Great Danes are coming off a third place finish in the Black Knights Invitational from this past weekend.
The Great Danes will face Western Illinois on Friday at 11 a.m. before closing out the day against host FGCU at 7 p.m. UAlbany concludes the weekend with a 1p.m. tilt against West Virginia on Saturday. All matches will be played at the Alico Arena.

Two-time America East Defensive Specialist of the Year, Nicole Otero is one of three AE defensive specialist to eclipse 100 digs in the early weeks of the season. The senior enters the tournament averaging 5.72 digs per set.
Digging Her Way to the Top
Nicole Otero is just seven digs away from eclipsing the 1500-dig mark. The senior's 1,493 career digs rank fourth all-time in the UAlbany volleyball record book.

- Junior Akuabata Okenwa earned Black Knight Invitational All-Tournament Honors on Sept. 1, after racking up 35 kills and seven blocks over the weekend.
- Senior Nicole Otero was named to the Sports Inform Classic All-Tournament Team on August 25 following a tournament-high 46 digs.
