Vivian Vega Named America East Women's Soccer Co-Player of the Week

ALBANY, N.Y. – With two goals in the victory at UMBC, Vivian Vega has been selected as the America East Women's Soccer Co-Player of the Week, announced by the conference on Monday.

This is the first conference weekly honor for the team this season.  Vega earns her second Player of the Week honor of her collegiate career, last winning on September 8th, 2014.  Along with a rookie honor in 2014, Vega has three America East weekly award, tying for the most in UAlbany women's soccer history.

The senior forward helped UAlbany win its conference opener on Sunday, a 3-1 victory at UMBC.  Vega had two goals, the first and final goals for UAlbany, in the victory.

Vega now has 22 career goals with UAlbany, one shy of the all-time program record of 23.

Vega shared the co-player honors with Bridgette Alexander of Hartford.

Vega and the Great Danes will prepare for their conference home opener on Thursday, September 28th at 7 p.m., hosting Binghamton at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium.
