The highly anticipated Albany Cup has finally arrived! The UAlbany and Siena Men's and Women's Basketball programs will tip off the latest installment of this long time rivalry at the SEFCU Arena this Sunday, November 27.
UAlbany Athletic Director Mark Benson commented on the series: "As we approach Thanksgiving weekend, we are thankful to be hosting the Albany Cup at SEFCU Arena for the first time. When I think of the spirit of the UAlbany-Siena rivalry I'm reminded of the annual Coaches vs. Cancer fundraiser where Coaches Brown and Patsos and the fans of both programs come together to raise over $150,000 for the American Cancer Society in a single night.
I want to thank all of those responsible for the continuation of a great college basketball rivalry, Siena AD John D'Argenio, Coaches Jimmy Patsos, Will Brown, Ali Jaques and Joanna Bernabei-McNamee and the fans in the community who have encouraged us to find a way to make this happen. We are excited for a capacity crowd, but for those who are unable to make it out to the games, they can tune into Time Warner Cable to watch both contests. The Great Dane family wishes the entire Capital Region a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving”.

*MODIFIED BAG POLICY*The University at Albany Athletic Department in cooperation with the University Police Department has issued a modification to their “Bag Policy” for fans attending basketball games at the SEFCU Arena. Beginning on Sunday, November 27, 2016, each GUEST is welcome to bring one BAG into SEFCU Arena provided that the bag is soft-sided (e.g., diaper bags or small purses) and its dimensions do not exceed 16 inches by 16 inches by 8 inches and are subject to a complete search by designated security agents. Refusal to allow a complete search of such items forfeits admittance for the GUEST and the BAG. UAlbany Athletics, University Police Department and designated Security Agents retain the right to refuse admittance of any guest, bag or prohibited item into University events.

PARKING
SEFCU PARKING LOTThe SEFCU Arena parking lot is designated exclusively for qualifying Great Dane Athletic Club members. There are NO single game cash sales in the SEFCU Lot. Full Season pass holders will be granted access to SEFCU lot for both Game 1 and 2. Please display parking pass hangtag on rearview mirror prior to entering arena.
DUTCH PARKING LOT
Parking is available in the Dutch Quad Parking Lot off Western Ave and Fuller Road for $10. The free Mohawk Honda shuttle will bring fans directly to the SEFCU Arena from the Dutch Quad Parking Area.
HANDICAP PARKING:
Single game handicap parking spaces are available by the gravel lot (the roundabout near the PE Building) on the northwest side of SEFCU Arena. The rate in that lot is also $10. If you do not have a legally issued hangtag or license plate, please notify the parking attendant that you are going to utilize the handicap drop off area near the bus turnaround on the side of SEFCU Arena. Handicap parking in SEFCU Lot is available on a first-come, first-serve basis for season pass holders. Your legally issued handicap hangtag or license plate will grant access into the SEFCU Lot along with the season pass hangtag.
DECRESCENTE HALL OF FAME ROOM BEER GARDEN
The UAlbany Athletics Hall of Fame Room, located next to the concession stand in SEFCU Arena lobby, offers a Beer Garden during UAlbany men's basketball games. On Sunday, the Hall of Fame Beer Garden will open early to accommodate fans in between the men's and women's games. Fans are welcome to gather in the Hall of Fame room while SEFCU Arena is being prepped for the 7pm men's game. The Hall of Fame area is FREE to enter and is a great place to mingle, grab a bite to eat, have a cold beverage while preparing for the . Alcohol purchased in the Hall of Fame Beer Garden MUST remain in the Hall of Fame room. Alcohol cannot be brought into the arena.
ALBANY CUP GAME DAY PARTY
In addition to the Hall of Fame Beer Garden, the PE building (across from SEFCU Arena Entrance) will be open to the public in between games. Fans are welcomed to enjoy food, cold beverages, live music, and bounce houses for the kids while waiting for the building to reopen for men's game. The PE building will open immediately following conclusion of the women's game. The party is FREE for all fans.
BUILDING CLEARING
Albany Cup men's and women's games will be treated as separate events. Fans will be required to purchase separate tickets to each game. Immediately following the conclusion of the women's game, fans will be asked to exit arena. Fans are welcome to take advantage of above the mentioned entertainment while SEFCU Arena staff prepares for the 7pm basketball game. Doors will reopen at approx. 6pm. Fans must provide valid men's game ticket in order to enter arena.
SEFCU ARENA BOX OFFICE
The Box Office will open 1 hour prior to the tip-off of the women's game (2 pm).
Will Call for both the women's game and the men's game will open at 2 pm and will be located in PE building across from the main North Entrance of the SEFCU Arena. Will Call will remain open through halftime of the men's game.
