Katie Abrahamson-Henderson Honored as 2015 BCANY Women's DI Coach of the Year

ENDICOTT, N.Y. – UAlbany's Katie Abrahamson-Henderson has been named the 2015 Women's Division I Coach of the Year by the Basketball Coaches Association of New York, Inc.
This is the second time Abrahamson-Henderson has earned this honor, being selected in 2013. Abrahamson-Henderson guided UAlbany to its fourth-consecutive America East Tournament title in 2015, leading the Great Danes to a 24-9 record and a co-regular season conference title at 14-2 in league play.
Among the accomplishments for the Great Danes in the 2014-15 season: their first-ever victory over a Power Five opponent with a win at Penn State on November 16th for a berth in the WNIT semifinals, the program's first-ever Division I All-American with Shereesha Richards and the program's highest seeding ever in the NCAA Tournament at 13 as UAlbany took 4-seed Duke to the brink, narrowly falling by two points in Durham.
The BCANY Coach of the Year Awards will be presented in Cortland on September 25-26 at the organization's fall clinic. The award was announced on May 26th.
