Game Notes | Live Stats | AmericaEast.tv: New Hampshire, Vermont

ALBANY, N.Y. – The UAlbany women's soccer team (3-7-2, 0-1-0 AE) will play its first America East home game on Thursday, October 2nd, hosting New Hampshire (4-6-0, 1-0-0 AE) at Bob Ford Field.  Then on Sunday, October 5th, the Great Danes take on Vermont (2-7-0, 0-1-0 America East) to finish the homestand.

Attendance to the UAlbany-UNH and UAlbany-Vermont games are free to the public.  Each game will be broadcast online free of charge on AmericaEast.tv.

UAlbany took on Hartford on the road in its first America East game of the year this past Sunday, with a Chanel Johnson 74th minute goal giving the home team a 1-0 win.  It was the best scoring performance for the Great Danes in a league opener since 2009, when UAlbany tied Vermont 1-1 to open league play.

UAlbany trails in the all-time series to UNH 4-9-1.  Last season, the Great Danes battled UNH to a 1-1 draw in Durham last year, snapping a two-game losing streak to the Wildcats.  The team also is behind in the series against Vermont 4-10-2.    Vermont won the last meeting, a 2-1 double overtime win in Burlington, to extend its unbeaten streak vs. UAlbany to three games.

Early in non-conference competition, UAlbany sports some of the top offensive players in the America East.  Vivian Vega stands second in the league with six goals, while Caitlyn Paltsios and Krista Fitzpatrick are tied for fifth for the most assists, each having three.  Alana Brennan, the starter in between the pipes the past all three years as a Great Dane, is first in the league in saves this season with 58.

New Hampshire has won its last two games, including a 1-0 victory in its conference opener vs. Vermont.  Freshman forward Brooke Murphy has scored five of the team's six goals, standing third in the league in that category.  Sophomore Mimi Borkan, who has played every minute in goal for UNH, has a 0.97 GAA and a .839 save %.

Vermont will take on UMBC at home on Thursday before playing UAlbany.  The team's top scorer is freshman Sarah Martin, who has four goals.  Averaging over seven saves a game, the top mark in the conference, junior goalkeeper Ally Ramos allows 2.05 goals per contest with a .750 save %.
