Krista Fitzpatrick Earns CoSIDA 2014 Academic All-District Honors

2014 CoSIDA Women's Soccer Academic All-District Teams
ALBANY, N.Y. – UAlbany women's soccer player Krista Fitzpatrick has earned a place on the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District 1 Team, released by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday.
Fiztpatrick was one of 11 Division I women's soccer athletes selected to the Academic All-District 1 team. The junior stands with a 3.96 GPA with a double major in sociology and criminal justice.
She is the first-ever UAlbany women's soccer player to earn CoSIDA Division I All-District Honors.
On the field, the midfielder stands seventh in the America East in scoring with 15 points off five goals and five assists, including a pair of multiple-goal games this season. She earned a place on the 2014 America East All-Academic Team with her performance.
District 1 encompasses the Northeastern United States, including New York and all six states of New England. To qualify, student-athletes needed a minimum 3.3 GPA and have played in 50% of the team's games this season. The all-district teams were voted on by the CoSIDA members that work in the district.
With the All-District honors, Fitzpatrick is now nominated for Academic All-America, which will be voted on by the members of CoSIDA next week.
