The Bulldogs, who are coming off a bye week, defeated Robert Morris, 34-27, in their last outing on Oct. 22. Bryant (5-3, NEC 3-2) is currently tied for third place in the NEC standings. The Bulldogs were picked to finish fifth in the league's preseason poll. Bryant averages 29.4 points and operates an attack that evenly uses the run and pass. RB Jordan Brown is a Walter Payton Award candidate as the nation's top player. He leads the NEC in rushing (163.5 ypg), scoring (13.8 ppg) and all-purpose yards (241.1 ypg). Brown has rushed for 100 or more yards in all eight games this season and scored the game-winning touchdown with 32 seconds remaining against Robert Morris. QB Mike Croce is second among the NEC leaders in passing efficiency with a 144.9 rating and has thrown for 1,087 yards and 12 touchdowns. WR Jordan Harris, who is second among the conference receiving leaders, has 24 catches for 556 yards and five touchdowns. TE Matt Tracey (6-5, 235), a preseason all-league selection, has 31 receptions for 365 yards and six TDs.
Eight starters return on Bryant's defense. LB Franck Tebou (6-0, 225) is third in the league in tackles at 8.6 per game. Tebou, whose brother Moise was an NFL first-round pick by Philadelphia, has 69 tackles and two fumble recoveries. LB Paul Hanley adds 60 tackles and 6.5 hits for a loss. DE Jordan Kelly (6-4, 240) is among the conference's sack leaders with four. CB Samad Wagstaff and FS Max Machado lead the defensive secondary. Wagstaff, who has 12 career interceptions, was a 2010 second-team All-NEC choice. Machado, the 2010 NEC Defensive Rookie of the Year, has 54 tackles and two interceptions.
UAlbany (6-2, NEC 5-0) blanked Wagner, 24-0, in blizzard conditions due to a rare October snowstorm on Staten Island last week. The Great Danes, who have won six in a row, remained in first place in the conference standings. Andrew Smith, a junior tailback, rushed for 149 yards and one touchdown. TB Dillon Romain scored on a pair of second-half runs.
Zach Gallo, a senior defensive tackle, made a career-high 11 tackles and forced a first-quarter fumble against Wagner. UAlbany recorded its 11th shutout as a Division I FCS program by holding the Seahawks to 204 total yards, including 25 through the air. DE Eddie Delaney made eight tackles and tied a career-high 1.5 sacks. Each sack erased a second-half scoring threat. CB Duane Harper and S Brandon Baylor recovered fumbles in the final quarter that led to a field goal and a touchdown.
