Albany, N.Y. -- University at Albany head women's soccer coach Mary-Frances Monroe named today Jill Serafino as assistant women's soccer coach.
Serafino brings several years of coaching experience to the Great Danes' staff. She most recently served as an assistant women's soccer coach at American International College, where she was also a professor of sport management and sport psychology. Serafino has also held the position of head soccer coach with Academica Futebol Club in Cheshire, Conn., since 2006. She has also served as the athletic counseling/mental conditioning coach for several soccer organizations, including the New England Mutiny of the Women's Premier Soccer League, the University of Massachusetts, Springfield College and Westfield State College.
Serafino received a B.A. in sport management, psychology and exercise science from the University of Massachusetts in 2003 and later earned a master's of education in psychology with a concentration in athletic counseling from Springfield College in 2006.
