Trish Sutton

     Trish Sutton enters her second season as an assistant coach with the UAlbany program. She previously was the girls' junior varsity coach at Wayland High School in Massachusetts. At the same time, Sutton served as team sales representative for Commonwealth Lacrosse, an equipment and apparel company.
     A native of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Sutton had an accomplished collegiate career at the College of the Holy Cross. A two-time All-Northeast Region midfielder, she finished her career as the program's career leader in goals (215) and points (291). In 2007, she was named the Crusader of the Year for excellence in academics, athletics and campus involvement.
     Sutton led the Crusaders to two Patriot League championships and a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances. She was voted the 2007 league tournament MVP when she scored five goals against Colgate in the title game. Sutton was chosen the Patriot League's offensive player of the year in 2006, and turned in a four-goal, two-assist effort in an NCAA play-in victory over Le Moyne.
     Sutton was named to the All-Patriot League squad four times, including three first-team selections. She was also chosen the league's rookie of the year as a freshman in 2004. Sutton, who earned her B.A. in sociology, was a member of the league's all-academic team on three occasions. She served on the executive board of the school's Student-Athlete Advisory Commitee (SAAC).
     On the scholastic level, Sutton was named to the 2003 U.S. Lacrosse All-America squad. A first-team All-Suburban Council selection, she was chosen her high school's female athlete of the year.
