            Brittany Scott is in her first season as a graduate assistant coach on the UAlbany women’s lacrosse coaching staff.  Scott was a standout midfielder for the Great Danes from 2005-08.  She previously has coached with Albany Elite Lacrosse, a premier girls’ club in the Capital Region.

            Scott led UAlbany to back-to-back America East Conference postseason appearances, including the 2007 championship final.  The Great Danes combined for 27 wins over her last three seasons.  She served as team captain during her senior campaign.

            A native of Baldwinsville, N.Y., Scott started 55 of 61 games played as a collegian.  She scored 47 goals and 20 assists, plus totaled 102 ground balls and 101 draw controls.  She was named to the 2005 America East All-Rookie Team as a freshman.

            A Dean’s List student, Scott graduated with a B.S. in psychology with a dual minor in sociology and education in May 2008.  She was chosen to the IWLCA and America East Conference academic honor rolls.  Scott was a member of the school’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).  Her father, Ron, was a National Hockey League goalkeeper, while her mother, Bonnie, captained the Michigan State gymnastics team.

            Scott was recently selected to the 2009 Canadian Women’s Field Lacrosse Team.  The 24-member squad will prepare for the 2009 FIL World Cup (Federation of International Lacrosse) in Prague, Czech Republic, June 18-27.  The final roster will be determined in February 2009.
