Nick Jones

Nick Jones is in his second season as a volunteer assistant coach of the UAlbany track and field programs. After spending a year assisting Craig McVey with the pole vaulters and Todd Wolin with the multi-eventers, he will strictly concentrate his attention with the pole vaulters for the 2009-10 season. Last year, he worked with All-American pole vaulter Luke Schoen, Freddie Wills, the America East champion in the decathlon, and two other athletes who garnered all-conference honors in the pole vault.

Jones was a four-year letterwinner on the Great Danes' indoor and outdoor track and field teams. Primarily a pole vaulter, he also competed in multi events his senior year indoors. Jones was also a two-time All-American in the pole vault and distance medley relay at Shenendehowa High School.

Jones, who holds the freshman high school state record in the pole vault, earned his bachelor's degree in sociology from UAlbany in 2009.
