Butlak was a five-year letter-earner at Lake Shore High School where he served as a captain senior year.He was a three time ECIC All-Star and  All-Federation in the steeple chase. Butlak earned MVP in cross country and outdoor track.He was also a member of the soccer team. 

Personal:

Calvin Butlak is the son of Alphonso and Lisa Butlak. He has two brothers, Alphonso IV and Howard, and four sisters, Allisa, Besty, Eveline, and Annie. Butlak was a member of the National Honor Society, Academy of Business and Finance, and Class Treasurer.Â
