Brendan Rowland enters his first season as a volunteer assistant coach in 2014.

Rowland was a standout outfielder for Head Coach Jon Mueller from 2007-10. Rowland signed a professional contract as a catcher with the Atlanta Braves organization at the end of his career and played one season in the Gulf Coast League.

In his three years as a starter at UAlbany, Rowland accrued a batting average of .318, hit 21 home runs and drove in 117 runs in 166 games for the Great Danes. He led the team in hitting in both his sophomore and senior seasons, and was a first-team All-America East Conference selection in 2008 and a second-team pick in 2010. Rowland was also a member of UAlbany’s 2007 America East Championship team that went on to compete in the NCAA Regional in Fayetteville, Ark.

A native of Albany, N.Y., Rowland led Colonie Central to a Section II championship was state runner-up finish in 2006.
