ALBANY, N.Y. – University at Albany freshman midfielder Kendra Harbinger was named America East women’s lacrosse Rookie of the Week on Monday.
Harbinger, from Clifton Park, N.Y., scored two goals in her collegiate debut Saturday in the Great Danes’ 12-10 loss at Yale.
She connected twice on three shots, with both goals coming in the second half and both pulling UAlbany within one goal of Yale. Harbinger's first, minutes into the second half, made the score 6-5, and her second, with 13:19 remaining, closed the Great Danes within 9-8.
UAlbany returns to action Thursday when it travels to Syracuse, ranked No. 4 in the IWLCA Poll released Monday.
