UAlbany Tennis Sweeps St. Peter's College, 7-0; Two Home Matches Next Weekend
Jersey City, N.J.- UAlbany tennis swept St. Peter's College, 7-0, on Saturday, Jan. 28. The Great Danes were able to sweep the doubles point by winning all three matches. UAlbany's singles in finishing order, number four, two, five and three all finished in straight sets to grab the match. Rounding out the match was the Great Danes number one and six singles both winning their respective match.
The Great Danes began the match by winning the double's point in convincing fashion with all three double's win their matches, respectively.
UAlbany's number four singles Kirsten Scott def. Linnea Janssen , number two Rocio Lopez Alberca def. Adina Halagian , number five Sarah Iannone def. Ivana Grbelja, and number three Cheryl Kukkonen def. Juneisa Williams in straight sets. Number one singles Livia Gherman had to go in three sets against Alex Livingston before winning her match and was followed by number six Aubrey Brooks def. Vanessa Vogel to win the match.
The UAlbany tennis team comes back home for a two-match home stand beginning with a match against Fordham on Saturday, Feb. 4 at Tri-City Tennis Club.
