Women’s Lacrosse Begins Postseason Push in America East Tournament

ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany women's lacrosse team will face No. 3 seed Bryant on Friday, May 1, at 7:00 p.m. in Burlington, Vt., as they look to defend their conference championship crown.
 
Top-seeded host Vermont will meet No. 4 seed UMBC in the first semifinal at 4:00 p.m., followed by UAlbany's matchup with Bryant at 7:00 p.m. The winners of Friday's semifinal games will advance to the 2026 America East Championship on Sunday at 12:00 p.m.

Leading the Pack
The UAlbany women's lacrosse team enters the postseason with a 10-5 overall record and a 5-1 mark in America East play, earning a share of the regular season championship and the No. 2 seed in the tournament.
 
Ravan Marsell leads the Great Danes offensively with 59 points on 26 goals and 33 assists, ranking among the America East leaders in both categories, and defensively leads the Great Danes with 27 ground balls. Paisley Cook has been a consistent facilitator and conference leader in draw controls with 142, while recording a team high 30 goals and 16 assists and also a team leader with 19 caused turnovers and second most for ground balls with 25., five time, America East Rookie of the Week, Mya Carroll has found her way right into the Great Danes, adjusting well to adding 31 points on 23 goals and eight assists to help balance the attack.
 
Defensively, Delilah Mile, Emma Torkoff, and Reggie Williams have been big impact players on the defensive side, led by five-time America East Goalkeeper of the Week, Grace Cincebox, who has started all 15 games in goal, recording 122 saves for a .454 save percentage and 10.62 goals against average while recording a 10-5 record on the season.
 
Scouting #3 Bryant
The Bulldogs enter the tournament as the No. 3 seed with a 10-6 overall record and a 5-1 mark in conference play. The Bryant Bulldogs are led offensively by Gabriella Constant, who has totaled 58 points on 50 goals and 8 assists, while Emily DeGeorge has added 48 points on 42 goals and 6 assists. Riley O'Mara (33 points, 29 goals) and Elise Larsen (44 points, 26 assists) also anchor a balanced attack.
 
In goal, Sierra Donis has started most games, posting a 9.79 goals-against average and a .401 save percentage with 87 saves on the season.

April 12, 2026 | UAlbany edged Bryant 9-8 in a tightly contested America East matchup at Casey Stadium. UAlbany Great Danes were led by a balanced scoring effort, including goals from Ravan Marsell, Mya Carroll, Riley Forthofer, Amanda Williamson, Jaedyn Frink, Kloey Roos, and Zareena Sorho.
 
Grace Cincebox recorded 15 saves in goal as UAlbany withstood a late Bryant push, holding on defensively in the final minutes to secure the one-goal victory.
 
Scouting #1 Vermont
Top-seeded Vermont enters the tournament with a 9-6 overall record and a 5-1 mark in conference play, earning the No. 1 seed and hosting duties after winning the three-way tie goals differential against UAlbany and Bryant. The Vermont Catamounts are led offensively by Lydia Doraz, who has totaled 58 points on 34 goals and 24 assists, while Jane Trauger has added 48 points on 39 goals and 9 assists. Caitlin Haggerty (33 points, 26 goals) and Ava Wilde (28 points, 21 assists) also provide key offensive production.
 
In goal, Ayla Shea has anchored Vermont's defense, posting a 9.21 goals-against average and a .517 save percentage with 122 saves on the season.
 
Previously vs. Vermont
April 18, 2026 | UAlbany's last regular season game of the season saw them fall to Vermont 14-4 at Virtue Field. UAlbany Great Danes were led by goals from Ravan Marsell, Mya Carroll, Riley Forthofer, and Amanda Williamson.
 
Jane Trauger powered Vermont with eight goals, while Lydia Doraz and Caitlin Haggerty also contributed multiple points in a dominant Catamounts performance from start to finish.
 
Scouting #4 UMBC
The Retrievers enter the tournament as the No. 4 seed with a 7-7 overall record and a 2-4 mark in conference play. UMBC is led offensively by Emily Knapp, who has totaled 57 points on 47 goals and 10 assists, while Reese Macintosh has added 45 points on 24 goals and 21 assists. Libby Staples (34 points, 18 goals) and Tess Curtis (24 points, 15 assists) also provide key secondary scoring.
 
In goal, Emine Luznar has started all 14 games, posting a 9.28 goals-against average and a .498 save percentage with 114 saves on the season.
 
Previously vs. UMBC
April 4, 2026 | UAlbany defeated UMBC 14-9 at UMBC Stadium in Baltimore. The Great Danes were led by Paisley Cook, who posted six points with three goals, three assists, 12 draw controls, three caused turnovers, and two ground balls.
 
Mya Carroll and Ravan Marsell each recorded hat tricks, with eight different players scoring in a dominant offensive performance. Grace Cincebox added 11 saves in goal as UAlbany controlled the game with a strong third-quarter surge.

Postseason Experience
The Great Danes are making their 19th straight appearance in the America East Tournament, dating back to 2007, and their eighth appearance under head coach Katie Thomson, continuing one of the most consistent postseason runs in the nation, and look to make it 15 straight Championship game appearances, dating back to 2011.
 
UAlbany has captured America East Tournament titles in 2011, 2012, 2023, and 2025, while also earning regular-season championships or co-championships in 2010, 2011, 2014, 2023, 2024, and 2026.
