BOSTON –
Jaden Kempson of UAlbany men's basketball was named America East Player of the Week, as announced Monday.
The junior led the Great Danes in two games against Yale and Florida Atlantic, averaging 24.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and two steals per game. Kempson shot 18-26 (69.2) from the field and 6-9 (66.7%) from three-point range during the week.
Kempson recorded 30 points against Florida Atlantic, the highest single-game scoring total by a Great Dane this season, while shooting 11-of-16 (68.8%) from the floor and 4-of-6 (66.7%) from beyond the arc, adding four rebounds, two assists, and two steals. After an 18-point outing versus Yale, connecting on 7-of-10 (70.0%) from the field and 2-of-3 (66.7%) from three-point range, while also recording five rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
This is Kempson's first America East Weekly Award of the Season
UAlbany will continue its season on the road at Stony Brook on Wednesday, December 17 in Stony Brook, New York with tipoff set for 7:00 PM.
