ALBANY, N.Y. - The UAlbany women's basketball team looks to remain undefeated in their third week of conference play.
After traveling to Bryant for a Thursday evening matchup, the Great Danes host Binghamton for their annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day contest. After the game, UAlbany women's basketball, along with other Great Dane teams, will host a clinic for all registered fans (8th grade and below) with the purchase of a valid game ticket. Registration is open until January 17 at 2 pm.

LAST WEEK IN REVIEW
- The Great Danes continued undefeated through week two of conference play with two home wins over New Hampshire and Maine.
- Starting off the weekend strong with a decisive 27-point victory over the Wildcats, Kayla Cooper led in four categories with 20 points, six rebounds, three steals, and three assists while shooting 50% from the field. UAlbany tallied nine steals with 19 points off turnovers in the 59-32 win.
- The Purple and Gold hosted Maine and won behind four double-digit scorers - Cooper (14), Lilly Phillips (13), Jessica Tomasetti (11), and Megan Huerter (11). All four scorers shot at least 50% for the field to put them over Maine, 60-55.
GREAT DANE REWIND
- UAlbany ended the non-conference season with just three losses while securing the best 10-game start in Division I history (9-1).
- The team's first loss of the season came in its crosstown matchup at Siena (12.7). The second two came against Power-Four teams at the end of the calendar year - Wisconsin (12.20) and #6 LSU (12.29).
- Going undefeated in November, UAlbany earned a double-digit season-opening victory against Rhode Island (11.8) while adding head coach Colleen Mullen's first win over a Power Four (Five) at Syracuse (11.20). Additional wins in November were against Dartmouth (11.13), Sacred Heart (11.16), Cornell (11.23) and RPI (11.27).
- The Great Danes added wins against Stonehill (12.1), Boston U (12.10), St. Bonaventure (12.14), and Merrimack (12.16) in December.
- UAlbany has kicked off conference season with four consecutive wins - Vermont (1.2), UMass Lowell (1.4), New Hampshire (1.9), and Maine (1.11).
- Kayla Cooper leads with 17.2 points per game, 7.3 rebounds per game, 49 assists, and 28 steals.
- Kaci Donovan (12.5) and Lilly Phillips (10.2) make it three total Great Danes averaging at least 10 ppg.
- Junior Gabriela Falcão owns a team-high 21 blocks.
- As a team, the Great Danes are shooting .455 from the field, with a 35.7% accuracy from downtown, and .770 from the line.
MILESTONE WATCH
- Lilly Phillips is nearing several career milestones - she is four steals away from 100 in her career, six assists away from 200, and 11 field goals away from 250.
- Senior Laycee Drake is seven assists away from making it 100 in her career.
- Jessica Tomasetti is 10 rebounds from 500 in her career.
MAKIN' HISTORY
- The Great Danes are at the end of a spectacular performance in the non-conference season, fueled by the leadership of head coach Colleen Mullen.
- After defeating St. Bonaventure on Saturday (12.14), UAlbany sealed the best 10-game start in Division I program history with just one loss.
- Previously, the best 10-game start in Division I program history was 8-2, including one season under head coach Colleen Mullen. Five teams earned the 8-2 start: 2012-13, 2013-14, 2015-16, 2017-18, 2023-24.
HAPPY AT HOME
- The Great Danes have paved the way for a historic season with an incredible record at home as they remain undefeated through the 2024-25 season in the Broadview Center.
- UAlbany has lost just five games at home since the start of the 2021-22 season.
- Going undefeated at home in non-conference play, Maine took the second-to-last regular-season home game of the 2021-22 season.
- Flipping the book for the 2022-23 season, UAlbany fell to Colgate and Cornell at "home" (Saint Rose and HVCC, respectively) while Broadview Center was undergoing its transformational overhaul.
- The Great Danes fell only twice during the 2023-24 season at home; both times being against Vermont.
ABOUT BRYANT
- The Bulldogs are an even 8-8 on the season so far.
- Both Bryant and UAlbany faced Merrimack, Stonehill, and Cornell. Both the Bulldogs and the Great Danes secured wins over each common opponent they shared.
- Bryant opened the season with four consecutive wins against Merrimack (11.4), Bridgewater State (11.8), and Central Connecticut State (11.12). They added three more victories against Rider (11.15), Cornell (11.19), and Stonehill (11.22) after a loss at Seton Hall (11.16).
- The Bulldogs were unable to win a game throughout the month of December.
- Bryant began their America East play with a road win against New Hampshire (1.2) but followed with losses to Maine (1.4) and Vermont (1.11).
- Leading the team's offensive efforts, Mia Mancini averages 11.0 points per game with a team-high 44 assists and is closely followed by Ali Brigham (10.9) and Breezie Williams (10.7).
- Supporting the team's defense, Mancini and Martina Boba lead with 20 steals each while Maranda Nyborg has denied 13 shots.
- Nia Scott has garnered a league-high 9.1 rebounds per game including 54 offensive boards.
- As a unit, the Bulldogs are shooting 41.7% from the field, including 28.9% from three-point range, and maintain a free-throw percentage of 66.5%.
SERIES AGAINST THE BULLDOGS
- The Great Danes lead the series, 5-1.
- Current head coach, Colleen Mullen is the only one to face Bryant and so owns the same 5-1 record against the Bulldogs.
- UAlbany is currently on a five-game winning streak against Bryant with the only loss ever to come from the Bulldogs being in their first meeting in 2019.
ABOUT BINGHAMTON
- The Bearcats are currently 11-6 heading into week three of conference play.
- Both Binghamton and UAlbany faced Cornell, LIU, St. Bonaventure, and Syracuse during this season. The Bearcats secured a victory against Siena but fell to Cornell, St. Bonaventure and Syracuse while the Great Danes saw wins against those three teams but a loss to Siena in the Albany Cup.
- Binghamton opened the season with consecutive home wins against Pittsburgh at Johnstown (11.4) and Akron (11.7). They then faced a series of challenging games resulting in losses to St. Bonaventure (11.9), Cornell (11.14), and Pittsburgh (11.17).
- The Bearcats rebounded with wins over LIU (11.22) and Canisius (11.25), followed by a victory against Loyola (Md.) (11.30). Subsequent games included a loss to Buffalo (12.4), a narrow win against Siena (12.15), a loss to Syracuse (12.18), and home victories over Molloy (12.20) and SUNY Geneseo (12.30).
- Binghamton began its America East play with a loss to NJIT (1.2) but bounced back with wins against UMBC (1.4), Maine (1.9), and New Hampshire (1.11).
- Leading The Bearcats' scoring efforts, Jadyn Weltz has been pivotal, averaging 10.8 points per game while also recording 39 steals and 54 assists.
- Bella Pucci and Camryan Fauria have combined for 10.6 rebounds per game each while Kendall Bennett and Abby Misier have tallied 12 and 10 blocks, respectively.
- Collectively, the Bearcats are shooting 43.3% from the field, 31.3% from three-point range, and maintaining a 71.8% free-throw percentage.
SERIES AGAINST THE BEARCATS
- UAlbany holds a 23-game advantage in the series against Binghamton at 50-27.
- Current head coach, Colleen Mullen, owns an 11-2 record against Binghamton during her time with UAlbany.
- Each loss came during contests in Vestal, N.Y. during the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons. Since then, the Great Danes have won six-straight games against the Bearcats.

- Food and drink specials will be available on a weekly basis as the teams embark on their new seasons and talk hoops every Monday.
AMERICA EAST STANDINGS
- After week two of the conference season only two teams remain undefeated - UAlbany (4-0) and NJIT (3-0)
- Binghamton and Vermont are tied with three wins and one loss each.
- Maine is the only team that stays even at 2-2 while Bryant is just behind at 1-2.
- UMBC (0-2), New Hampshire (0-4), and UMass Lowell (0-4) are all looking for their first AE win.

- Binghamton's Jaedyn Weltz was named Player of the Week
- Averaged 16.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 3.5 steals per game in a 2-0 week
