Short Story: UAlbany men's track & field wins their first America East indoor title since 2020, and their 17th overall, scoring 165 points and claiming seven event victories.
 
Track Events
  • Jared Rogalski placed second in the mile in 4:08.44.
  • Hassan Abidi won the 800m in 1:50.81.
  • Antwone Messado won the 60m hurdles in 8.07; Kendall Mariacher placed eighth in 8.62.
  • Shak Williams led a sweep of the top three places in the 60m.  Williams finished first in 6.67, followed by Shavar Staats Jr. in second in 6.78, and Lucas Casab in third in 6.91.
  • Quincy Chery placed fourth in the 500m in a personal-best 1:04.39.
  • Abidi placed third in the 1,000m in 2:26.52; Rogalski placed eighth in 2:28.45.
  • Williams won the 200m in an indoor-best 21.35; Staats Jr. placed second in a personal-best 21.58.
  • The men's 4x800m relay team of Chris Bertola (1:57.45), Steve Hines (1:54.33), Isaac Graber (1:56.27), and Rogalski (1:53.37) placed second in 7:41.36.
  • The men's 4x400m relay team of Jabari Barriffe (50.63), Giovanni Gonzalez (49.91), Chery (48.92), and Abidi (49.31) placed sixth in 3:18.75.
Field Events Meet Notes
  • Shakur Williams was named Outstanding Track Performer.
  • Travis Robinson was named Outstanding Field Performer.
  • Coach Vives and his assistants were named Coaching Staff of the Year.
  • The men won their 17th America East indoor title, and their first since the 2020 season.
  • Since 2002, the men have never placed lower than second at the America East indoor championship meet.
  • Williams moves into third place in program history in the indoor 200m.
  • Tyler Charles moves into seventh place in program history in the indoor triple jump.
  • Ja'Lil Reynolds moves into fifth place in program history in the indoor high jump.
  • Zhi Luncheon-Lowrie moves into a tie for eighth place in program history in the indoor high jump.
  • Travis Robinson breaks his own program record in the shot put, previously 57-11.00.  He is the first Great Dane in history to exceed 60' in the event, indoors or outdoors.  Robinson also breaks the America East indoor championship meet record of 58-11.50 set in 2012 by New Hampshire's Brice Paey.
  • The women won their 12th America East indoor title, and 10th in the last 11 seasons, scoring 191 points and winning six events.
